Costa Rica Water Safe to Drink

When planning your next vacation, do you ever take the time to think about the drinking water?  If you go to Mexico, you'll need to drink bottled water to stay healthy.  If you travel to the Caribbean and most tropical destinations, you'll need to drink bottled water.


If you travel to Costa Rica and visit any of the major cities and towns, you can safely drink the tap water.  Really.  It's true - can you imagine what a bonus this is when you're on vacation?  You never have to worry about the ice cubes, mixed drinks or wondering if the vegetables have been washed thoroughly.  


This doesn't just apply to resorts and hotels - this applies to most of the country including the water in Playas del Coco. It's well worth noting that a 2005 Costa Rican government report found that 70% of residents across the country have access to clean drinking water.
