Known for it's abundance of watersports ranging from scuba diving and snorkeling to surfing and white water rafting, it's no wonder Costa Rica is home to the 2011 World Rafting Championship.   


Taking place on the Pacuare River from October 4 to 11, 20122, competitors from around the world will compete in this fun yet challenging event.  In addition, the Youth World Rafting Championship will be held subsequently from October 12 to 16, 2011.



And for the Dancing with the Stars fans, the 3rd Cafe Cantante International Flamenco Festival is being held at the Jazz Cafe in Escazu on the outskirts of San Jose.  Guests will enjoy a selection of national and international flamenco dancers, performances by singers and musicians, along with guitar and dance workshops.

Award Winning Costa Rica Micro Brew

Don't be fooled, Costa Rica isn't just about coffee and chocolate - there's also an award winning micro brewery, Craft Brewing Co., in the former capital city of Cartago.


Known as Latin America's Most Important Beer Competition, Copa Cervezas de America wrapped up on September 10, 2011, with Craft Brewing Co. winning a Silver Medal for their signature brew, Segua Red Ale.  


Visitors are invited to take a tour of the Craft Brewing Co. facility each Wednesday to Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. by advance reservation.  Or when in San Jose, Santa Ana, Jaco or Nosara, you'll find it on tap at many fine establishments.
